The emotional experience that Pilates can be is what motivates me to teach. I want everyone to be able to get on the Reformer and connect with themselves for an hour, forget about burning calories, forget about work and focus entirely on what their bodies and minds are really capable of.

Meet Eva

Hi! I’m Eva Wennes. I am a Pilates instructor and Corrective Exercise Specialist in the Biomechanics Method. My passion for Pilates began shortly after a ski injury that left torn knee ligaments in 2002. After surgery, I missed exercising and could not participate in any physical activities.

Then a friend introduced me to Pilates.

I immediately fell in love.

No longer able to resist my heart, I switched careers and became a certified Mat and Apparatus (Equipment) Pilates instructor.

After teaching large group sessions in a big studio, I knew I wanted to do it different and work with 1 or at most, 2 clients at a time. In a group setting the individual’s needs aren’t addressed. I didn’t want to help in any other way, but knowing, that nobody felt left out.

I’ve seen many physical conditions and I realized how much I enjoy working with special needs clients.Therefore, I became certified as a Corrective Exercise Specialist, which allows me better help those with pain management and reduction.

Europilates, in North Park, San Diego began from my devotion to helping others.

My Path to the Euro Pilates method.

Having taught Pilates for years, I felt  a strong desire, to understand my clients’ bodies better. Why do people suffer daily, from the same nagging pain: foot, knee, lower back, shoulder, neck. Why do we hurt in the same areas? How could I better help my clients to eliminate pain? My curiosity about these questions only grew stronger, I knew there had to be an answer.

As law of attraction would have it, I discovered The Biomechanics Method: a systematic process specifically created to alleviate chronic pain, designed by Justin Price, one of the top musculoskeletal assessment and corrective exercise experts in the world.

This approach to pain relief is unique because it blends structural assessments, corrective exercise techniques and life coaching strategies into one system that people can easily follow and bring to their daily lives.

We abuse our bodies by overusing certain areas and under utilizing others. We create imbalances and then suffer from the consequences.

As a TBMM specialist, I perform a thorough musculo-skeletal assessment on every new client. I spend time listening to them, to better understand what their bodies are experiencing every day. Then we go through a number of tests to identify the origin of the excessive tightness, which results in limited Range of Motion (ROM). This gives me a thorough understanding on how they are developing chronic pain.

Based on my findings, I design an exercise program unique to their assessment, which addresses muscle tightness via self-massage (self-myofascial release), includes stretches and specific strengthening exercises, targeting the imbalances of the body.

People turn to Pilates, because they are in physical pain. Pilates alone can be wonderful in many ways,but there is something amazing that happens in the healing and balancing of the body when Pilates is Combined with TBMM. That’s why I continued my learning and enrolled in the level 2 Advanced Course of TBMM.

I have been excited to be one of 30 fitness professionals worldwide that currently hold a Level One TBMM certificate.

As of May 2013, that excitement was surpassed when I received my TBMM Level 2 certificate recognizing me as an Advanced Specialist in The Biomechanics Method. This places me as the first fitness professional in the world holding a level 2 certification!

I’m extremely grateful and excited because I want to help people have a body that doesn’t just allow fluid motion, but feels good and strong when in motion, enabling them to spend more time enjoying their life. Combining my diverse experience in Pilates with an advanced education in the best BioMechanics training helps me do that.

Eva’s pilates instruction is fantastic. She goes beyond simply making sure you get a good work-out; she’s very knowledgable about biomechanics, so she is able to really optimize work-outs, help strengthen problem areas, and work around any existing joint issues.  I have scoliosis, and had intermittent back pain for years.  Eva worked with me to strengthen my back and core, and my back has been so happy!   I also think it’s important to mention that before finding Eva, I had NEVER stuck to a work-out regimen for more than a few months.  I went to Eva for over 2 years, without interruptions, and only stopped because I moved  away (sniff!).   Pilates instruction can be pricey, but this is a REALLY good investment in yourself.
